UNFPA ran a camp to improve awareness of pupils and teachers of pilot schools of Belarus on reproductive health issues

From September 14 till October 4, on the basis of the "Zubryonok" National Children's Health Camp, within the framework of the Joint Project of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Health, "Nadezhda-Express" NGO and regional NGOs, were running a Volunteers' School for 80 representatives (pupils and teachers) from 12 pilot schools of Belarus.

The aim of the Camp was to improve the awareness of pupils and teachers of pilot schools on the issues of reproductive health, in particular, HIV/AIDS, sexually-transmitted infections (STIs), alcohol, tobacco and drugs addiction, teenage sexuality and consequences of unsafe sexual behaviour, and also on formation of responsible sexual behaviour and acquiring skills to address the issues of reproductive health among the counterparts by the principle "equal-to-equal."

The workshops and training sessions during the Camp were lead by volunteers-trainers of the following partnership national and regional organizations: MOBO "Nadezhda-Express," Gomel LLC "Social Projects," "Uliana" Vitebsk City Women's Public Association, Mogilyov "Belarusian Republic's Pioneers Organization," "KLYUV" Grodno UNESCO Club, Regional Public Association "Family, Children, Future.
