The national awareness raising campaign “Home without Violence” was launched on November 27. It is conducted jointly by the ministries and other state governing bodies, UN agencies and non-governmental organizations. Now the cultural campaign “Let’s be Belarusians!” has joined the initiative already supported by the BATE team, Belavia, TUT.BY portal and Kamsamolskaya Pravda newspaper. Presentation “Kitchens without Violence” in Hrodna was organized during one of the community discussions “Culture improves life” held throughout the country.

Ms. Alena Makovskaya, Coordinator of the campaign “Let’s be Belarusians!”, commented on the presentation:

“We regarded the proposition of the UN Office to join the programme as an initiative, which one cannot but support. It was an honour to bring an important social message to the people who work actively in the social and cultural spheres of Hrodna.

It is very important that while implementing the campaign its initiators turn to all sectors of the community, as such serious problems can only be resolved by a concerted effort. This is exactly why we see the symbolic value of the cycle of counteracting violence used in the campaign brand – this issue requires 360 degrees of communication and cooperation from the community”.
