On 27-29 May regional conference on "Promoting Health and Rights, Reducing Inequalities" is hosted in Sofia and is aimed at improving sexual and reproductive health in Eastern European and Central Asian countries.

Representatives from state medical institutions from various countries will discuss post-2015 development agenda, as well as approaches to the issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights considering the impact on the overall health of the population and economy.

Elena Bogdan (Head of the Central Board on Organization of Medical Care of the Ministry of Health) and Elena Kasko (UNFPA Assistant Representative) are taking part in the event from the Belarusian side.

Belarusian best practices in decreasing the level of maternal death will be presented in the framework of experience exchange. At the moment these numbers are the lowest in Belarus among 17 countries of the European region of UNFPA and 53 countries of the same region of WHO.
