Starting from 1 October 2013 programme “Network for All” will be launched in Minsk as part of the project “Third Age University”.
The Programme will be implemented by MTS with support from NGO Belarusian Association of Social Workers and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the framework of the “Third Age University” project; the programme aims to help elderly people acquire internet communication skills and promote up-to-date information technologies and useful online services among senior citizens.
“According to our research lack of confidence is the main factor restricting internet use by middle-age people, that is why the major objective is to create such environment at the courses so that senior citizens are interested in acquiring new computer knowledge and skills», said Tatyana Kurbat, PR Group Manager of MTS.
To implement the programme we need help from volunteers who are ready to share their knowledge with senior citizens once a week during four months. The volunteers will work in pairs at the territorial centre, which is closer to them geographically. The time will also be agreed in advance with everybody willing to attend.
Prior to the beginning of classes each of the volunteers will undergo a professional training and receive a specially tailored programme for work with senior citizens.
If you want to participate in the project, please send your applications before 19 September 2013 to: we.volonteru@gmail.com, and indicate your full name, phone number, place of work/study and the most convenient time and day for teaching.
