Representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and OWHealth, developer of Flo, a mobile women’s health platform, signed Cooperation Agreement on December 5 in Minsk.   The document was  signed by Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region, Ms. Alanna Armitage and OWHealth Director Dmitry Gurski.

UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. It works in over 150 countries worldwide and has been working in Belarus since 1994.

In recent years, Belarus has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the area of reproductive health, allocating significant resources to mother and childcare and guaranteeing wide access to perinatal medical care.  These investments have resulted in very low maternal and child mortality rates.

OWHealth is a company, which develops innovative solutions in the field of women’s health. The founders of the company are Belarusians Dmitry and Yuri Gursky, Max Scrobov and Andrew Kovzel. The company's main product is FLO, a fast-growing women’s health platform with 12 million active users (75, 000 users in Belarus), which is the leader in the category Health & Fitness in the AppStore and Google Play in the USA and Western Europe.

The agreement consolidated the parties on global cooperation in the following areas:

1.            Creation of additional content contained within the FLO application, specifically UNFPA will advise OWHealth and FLO application development team on how to convey accurate information about sexual and reproductive health issues, including family planning.

2.            Collaboration and support to each entity’s global and local campaigns and social media (where aligned with each entity’s mission).

3.            Joint research to understand FLO application user behavior and requirements for information on sexual reproductive health and gender issues.

Alanna Armitage quote:   “I would like to extend our appreciation to OWHealth for developing the FLO mobile app, which has become a major tool for advancing women's health. We are very much looking forward to bringing this new partnership to life and are excited to work together to advance women’s health in Belarus and all over the world.”

Dmitry Gurski’s quote: “Our mission is to be a trusted partner for every woman along the entire reproductive cycle, from adolescence to menopause. In less than 2 years, we managed to build a successful product and to take leading positions in the Health & Fitness Category in both App Store and Google Play in many countries. We are honored to partner with UNFPA, and consider this agreement to be a major recognition of our work.”
