This is an annual campaign, which is conducted in many countries of the world from November 25 - the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - until December 10 - the Human Rights Day. The initiative aims to draw the attention of the public to this problem through thematic activities calling onto people to stop violence against girls and women, which are carried out around the world. The orange colour of the campaign is the symbol of a bright and better future without violence. The final match of the season between BATE FC and Gorodeya FC was held on November 27, 2016 in Barysaŭ at Borisov Arena. The teams dedicated their championship duel to combating violence against women and thus joined the annual campaign. The teams came onto the field with orange bands on - the official colour of the campaign, which is the symbol of a bright and better future without violence.
The fans who came to see the match had an opportunity to express their solidarity with the players by wearing special orange bracelets, which volunteers distributed at the entrance.
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) organized a thematic photo exhibition in the gallery of Borisov Arena with addresses of well-known Belarusians, including the captain of BATE Borisov Football Club Vitaly Rodionov, to stop violence against women and girls.
The British Embassy in the Republic of Belarus represented by Security Advisor Andrew Swan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus represented by Deputy Head of the Prevention Directorate of the Chief Directorate for Law Enforcement and Crime Prevention of the Public Security Militsiya of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Krasutski joined the campaign.
